Product review: Kingfisher Natural Toothpaste – Fennel
RRP £2.18 for 100ml
Rating: *** (out of 5)
Review by: Alexa Williamson
This is a good toothpaste if you want something natural, free of flouride*, sodium saccharine and other chemicals, which you will find in over the counter brands such as Colgate, Crest, Aim and the like.
However, without the chemicals of these brands, which remove plaque and tartar, your teeth won’t be as sparkling white. Yet, the good thing about this brand versus some of the other natural ones is that even after brushing, you don’t feel like there’s a ‘film’ still left on your teeth – as if the toothpaste hasn’t cleaned well enough.
This brand is also good for those taking homeopathic remedies.
I’m particularly impressed with the minimal ingredients list, so am publishing it here:
| Ingredients | source | function |
| calcium carbonate | chalk | gentle abrasive |
| glycerin | vegetable | moisture retention |
| aqua | purified water | moistener |
| sodium lauryl sulfate | palm oil | stabilizer |
| hydrated silica | natural ore | structuring agent |
| cellulose gum | plant fibre | thickener |
| foeniculum vulgare | fennel | fresh taste |
| anethole | fennel | fresh taste |
| limonene | fennel | fresh taste |
