Travel review: Portobello Beach, near Edinburgh, Scotland
Rating: ***** (out of 5)
Review by: Alexa Williamson
All the Edinburghers I’ve met in my times have been to Portobello Beach at some point in their lives, so having an unyielding curiosity to find out what makes things popular to the masses, I went to and was very pleasantly surprised.
It was described to me as chavvy and crowded. However, when I got there, I was presented with a thought-provoking barren stretch of sand and a quiet outlook over the North Sea.
Beautiful for its sombreness, it’s a great place to read and think and I can’t wait to go back.
